How we write
How we write the guides
Last updated . Who writes the guides and comparisons on this site, where their facts come from, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Who writes them
Every guide and comparison here is written and checked by the Soot team at Raedus Labs, a small, independent studio in Australia. Each one is signed by the team, not by a named person, and we never invent an author or a job title to make a page look more official. We are not clinicians and don't claim to be. What we can promise is careful reading, and sources you can check yourself.
Where the facts come from
- We start with what ADHD adults say in their own words: roughly 22,000 app reviews and 8,000 community posts, read for what helps, what doesn't, and what keeps going wrong.
- Every claim about research names its source. A small number in the text links to the study, journal or organisation it comes from, listed under Sources at the end of the page. We read a source before we cite it, and the guide says what it shows, not more.
- Where the evidence is thin, mixed or early, the guide says so, in plain words.
- Facts about other apps (prices, features, platforms) come from each app's own store listing or website, and every comparison says which month they were checked.
- No app pays to be included in a comparison or left out of one. The guides carry no ads and no affiliate links.
Plain language
The guides use the words people with ADHD use about their own lives, like "spiral", "can't start" and "ADHD paralysis", in short sentences, one idea at a time. A pattern is written as something that once protected you, never as a flaw. The research behind each technique the Reset uses is on the Evidence page.
What the guides are, and what they are not
Soot is a wellness and self-help product. The guides are self-help reading: not medical care, not a replacement for a doctor or a licensed mental health professional, and not a crisis service. If you might hurt yourself, or you are not safe right now, go to Help now.
The dates on every guide
The top of each guide shows when it was last updated. The end shows when its facts and sources were last checked, and when it was first published. The page's structured data carries the same updated and first-published dates, so a search engine reads what you do.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, out of date, or unfair to an app we compare, write to hello@meetsoot.com. We check it against the source, fix the page if it needs fixing, and update its date. That goes for the companies we compare too.
